There are a lot of diseases that are hard to cope with but I think one of the hardest would have to be Alzheimer’s disease. I know it doesn’t sound like anything life threatening but I think that is one of the hardest things for a family to have to go through. My grandma had Alzheimer’s but it wasn’t as bad as it can get. Can you imagine living a fulfilled life to slowly forget it all? That breaks my heart seriously. I guess when I think of the disease I think of The Notebook and I’d feel heartbroken if I loved someone for fifty or sixty years, had the ultimate romance with and them to suddenly forget it all like I was a complete stranger. I don’t know if I could handle it. I know that The Notebook is just a movie but the storyline does happen since my grandfather has Alzheimer’s and it’s getting worse. I am not really close to my grandfather but he can still remember who we are but anything as far as memories go, he can’t remember and sometimes when he sees us he has to go down the line. I feel bad because I wonder what’s going on in his mind. I often wonder if my grandfather’s brain is like a puzzle and with the Alzheimer’s if it suddenly starts taking puzzle pieces away and he’s left with big hole in the big pictures only to have the holes grow and grow until nothing is left. It’s a hard way to go.
That is why I completely support the Alzheimer’s Walk and believe it is a very charitable cause which is organized by the Alzheimer’s Association. The Alzheimer’s Walk has earned over $225 million in the fight against Alzheimer’s and there is a walk in almost every place. Like for instance, there is 2 walks scheduled within 30 miles of my hometown. If I had a good knee I’d be walking my booty off but hopefully I’ll be in better shape and have my knee better conditioned for next year’s walk. Right now, you can sign up early to be a team captain, team walker, or independent walker. I know that walking isn’t for everyone and not everyone is in good enough shape to do so but that’s okay, there are always donations that can be made! Everyone needs to pitch in and support the fight against Alzheimer’s!

In January, Beth and I will be driving up to the great state of Pennsylvania to spend a few days with the Mary which is my internet best friend for those that don’t know. I am so excited. Everything is falling into place, we’ve already talked to my mom about going and she’s okay with it so far. She’s kind of scared and concerned since this is our first time driving up north and considering it will be just Beth and I, it is giving her a lot of reasons to be concerned but go figure, she is a mom! Lol. That’s her job, to worry! We’ve already decided on the vehicle we’re going to rent and now all we have to do is make our reservation which will be done the week after my birthday to make sure we actually get what we want. We got to drive in style, ya know?
The only thing left to do is check out Hotel Reservations and book us a place to stay! We have been browsing HotelReservations.com and I am very impressed with the website. They have a lot of hotels to browse from and we are able to look them up, check out images of the hotels, and then pick which one we like the best. The good thing is that they have very cheap prices but not cheap places. I know that price is important but it’s not worth compromising the place we stay in since I prefer a nice hotel that is clean and bug free. I seriously have this phobia of bugs and more so the phobia of staying a hotel full of bugs. I seriously would have a heart attack.
Another good thing about HotelReservations.com is that they don’t only have hotel rates; you can find flights, cars, vacation rentals, and even vacation packages. So now we might just go ahead and get our hotel and car from HotelReservation and save some money. So if you are finding yourself in a bind and needing a place to stay, check out Hotel Reservations!

You have to love little sisters! Selena, Beth, and I are all in my room since my mom is asleep and the step-dad plus little brother is camping out. Beth is griping because she wants Krystals and I don’t wanna go so out of nowhere Selena, the 7 yr old says, “Well sometimes you just don’t get what you want, Beth. No Krystals for you!”
Gotta love a little sister who takes after your smart ass self. Lol.

One of my cordless batteries is destroyed! Seems like sir Jack thought it would be fun to try to eat my cordless. He managed to get the back off of it and then bite at the battery and the connector wires fell apart. So now I had to call around today to see who had a Uniden Cordless Phone Battery. I tried a bunch of places but evidently all their workers are moron so I decided to google it and found the battery I needed at Low Cost Batteries. Evidently they have every battery imaginable so I bookmarked their site for the next time I’m in a battery crisis. So my battery has been ordered and should be here next week. Score! Good thing I found that site! So if you are like me and searching for a cordless battery, check them out!

When it comes to movies, I have very eclectic taste but by far my fave movies growing up were horror flicks! My all time favorite horror film would have to be all the Halloweens and Nightmare on Elm Streets. When it comes to scaryness, Freddy Krueger and Michael Meyers take the cake by far. I remember I was so scared of Freddy that my step-dad took me to the fair one night and an impersonator was there dressed as Freddy and I started screaming. Lol.
The thing I am mostly interested in Halloween the movie is to see where Rob Zombie is going to take the movie since I didn’t like House of 1,000 Corpses but since Halloween has already been an established movie with sequels, it shouldn’t be so hard to make the new Halloween the movie better than all the rest. So far, the trailer looks excellent. Basically, Zombie’s movie happens 17 years after ten-year-old Michael was committed when he is accidentally released from a mental institution. Of course, being the typical Halloween movie, he heads to look for his sister, Laurie, back in Haddonfield. Even though he had just been locked away for seventeen years, don’t be fooled, dear Michael is just as dangerous and as twisted as he was when he was ten, if not more so now.
I’ve embedded the trailer below so you can get goose bumps watching it as well. I am so excited and so pumped. Halloween has been a horror movie classic that has touched many generations since the new Halloween the movie makes number nine, chances are no matter how old you are, you’ve seen them and liked them. So, don’t worry because on August 31st, everyone will be able to see the movie in theaters! Are you excited as I am?
